THE FARM &
Croust HOUSE RESTAURANT
Come and take a peak at a real, working, organic, Cornish dairy farm! Of course, our delicious ice cream is made only from the rich and creamy milk of our hardworking herd of Jersey cows. When Joe Roskilly inherited the farm from his Godmother in 1950, there were only 30 cows on the farm. These days we are milking around 125 Jerseys!
Did you know that we use much of our own produce from the farm to serve in the Croust House restaurant? We think this is what makes each dish extra special. Don’t just take our word for it – come and try for yourselves!

The farm’s restaurant is perfect for taking in Cornwall’s fresh morning air. The idyllic courtyard is a relaxing place to soak up the morning sun sipping on an aromatic barista made coffee or an energising fruit tea. The woodfired grill retains its heat from the day before, so a small fire is lit to all the colour to our cooked Cornish breakfasts. Indulge yourself in our ‘Big Rosko’, full to the brim with the best local meats or an invigorating vegetarian option of ‘Shak Shuka’. A great way to fuel your day for a walk around the farm or an adventurous coastal walk.

Sunday Roast Menu
The Roskilly’s Roast, served exclusively on Sunday lunchtimes at the farm, has quickly become one of the most sought-after meals in Cornwall! This hearty feast comprises of varying cuts of rich beef and succulent pork, reared on the farm and roasted fresh. Delicious local vegetables, from the fabulous Gear Farm, are glazed, basted and roasted to perfection. The expertly crafted, sweet and rich gravy is satisfyingly drizzled over the dish before it is crowned with a proudly golden Yorkshire pudding and adorned with salted, puffed pork crackling. Homemade, creamy apple sauce and a jug of extra gravy complements the dish, as well as your choice of horseradish or mustard. Vegetarian alternative, gluten-free option and child’s-size portions available. Whatever the weather, what better way to spend your Sunday than with us here at Roskilly’s?

An open fire grill is at the heart of our kitchen and there is no better way to cook burgers. All the mince is from our own animals and butchered in house, creating thick meaty burgers the Roskilly’s way. Brioche buns are then dipped in beef fat and toasted creating a juicy crunchy taste of Cornwall.
Our Pizzas on the farm are becoming more and more famous, with people travelling into the heart of the Cornish countryside for a slice. The dough is made from a sourdough starter that has been eating its way through flour for over twenty years. Hand rolled in semolina to order and then fired in the homemade wood oven and fuelled by the fallen wood of the surrounding area. The toppings are ever changing and always innovative with only rules being if it is local and tasty.
Children have plenty of options too from hotdogs to smaller pizzas so that no one misses out on experiencing the flavour produced from the wood on the farm.

Evenings on the farm are a welcoming and wholesome place. We run an exciting farmhouse restaurant in the evenings. The classic pizzas and burgers are served alongside the interesting dishes. We use fish from the local cove of Coverack, fresh vegetables from gear farm and innovative cuts of meat from the animals reared and butchered on the farm. All the dishes are centred around cooking over well-seasoned wood. Elevating Cornish ingredients with inhouse pickles and ferments and garnished with locally foraged herbs and flowers, giving you a true taste of the local terroir prepared and cooked with heart.

Farm Animals
There are many animals on the farm for everyone to come and see for free. We have Tamworth pigs which supply the farm restaurant with meat all year round and if you’re lucky there might be a new batch of piglets! Cows and calves are located in various fields around the farm so you may need to explore slightly further to find our lovely Jerseys. The goats are always around causing mischief, whether that is hopping over fences or stealing food out of hands of unsuspecting visitors. We also have a large array of all sorts of free-range poultry adding to the morning chorus we so fondly associate with idyllic country living.

Bull Pen Gallery
The notorious Bull Pen Gallery has had many uses over the years. It started life as the name suggests: a pen where the bull was kept. It has fortunately been cleaned up since then and now showcases numerous local artists’ work. This ranges from stained glass artwork to hand spun ceramics to stunning artistic driftwood to beautifully unique sea-glass jewellery. There is also an expanse of items to keep the young ones entertained: popular children’s books, toys and knick-knacks to take home.

The Ponds
Roskilly’s offers over a mile of ponds, meadows and woodland walks. This was a passion project of Joe Roskilly who wanted to create a space for people to enjoy. Still to this day we are honouring his wishes by leaving nature to take control with very gentle management, letting people walk around and enjoy the tranquillity for free. There are ducks to feed and often heifers roaming the meadows in the summer, even some beehives to help pollinate all the beautiful flowers. Let the pathways guide you through the wildness of nature and escape from the busy, modern world to a place of pure freedom and serenity.
