Our wonderful Wood Fired ovens

19th Century cooking is making a come-back, with the return of the Wood-Fired Oven.

 

Modern wood-fired ovens are more commonly used for baking bread & pizzas, but you can pretty much cook anything in these fabulous hand built ovens.

 

Cooking in this way locks in moisture and flavour. Food is not just cooked by hot air but by the heat that radiates from the masonry, plus heat which conducts directly into the food from hot floor brick.

This triple combination of radiation, conductive & convective heat not only produces a more intense flavour, it also speeds up the cooking process.

 

We are cooking more and more of our menu on the wood-fired oven so hope you thoroughly enjoy feasting on these tasty dishes.
